PARENTS & KIDS MUST WATCH!
If you have kids who are both young & teens, I cannot stress to you, as a parent myself, how crucially important this post is & will be.
The absolute first thing any parent should do before putting a device connected to the internet in that child’s hand is to teach them & make sure they understand, BEFORE allowing them to use it, these 3 basic rules:
1. Under no circumstances should they accept any friend requests from anyone they do not know.
2. Under no circumstances should they chat with anyone online on any gaming platform or social media platform they do not know.
3. Teach them about fake social media profiles & how MANY, & I mean MANY, profiles online are created by child predators using fake names & profile pictures to trick children into believing they are real. Fake profiles are used by all predators as their main safety & anonymity tool to trick & manipulate kids. Unfortunately, this topic (fake profiles) is rarely discussed or shared by authorities or those trying to raise awareness about online safety.
There’s a lot of confusing safety advice out there on social media, mainly because some people don’t know what they are talking about or they want clickbait, likes, & followers over providing parents with correct information.
AI is a major danger now, as it is skyrocketing across the internet. The target? Your children. Teens have & will continue to end their own lives as a result of this nightmare scenario.
The truth is that authorities, laws, & regulations are so far behind on this topic that it’s impossible to stop or protect children. You, & only you, can stop your child from being the next victim. How? By making sure you educate your children about the tips above.
I’ll guarantee you that predators across the globe, both online & in person, will not stop coming for your children.
The only way to ensure your kids' online safety, if they have access to the internet, is to educate, educate, & educate them about these tips. If your child is educated on the above, I’ll guarantee you they’ll be safer.
