Project Rescue Children Halloween Safety Tips

Children look forward to Halloween for many reasons; dressing up in costumes, telling scary stories and Trick or Treating are all fun aspects of this holiday. Project Rescue Children understands it should be a fun time, without trouble and pain, so following some easy tips can keep your child safe every Halloween:

* A responsible adult should accompany young children.

* Join kids under age 12 for trick-or-treating.

* Carry glow sticks or flashlights, use reflective tape or stickers on costumes and bags.

* If your older children are going alone, plan and review a route acceptable to you.

* Don’t let your child eat any candy until you or another trusted adult have checked it for tampering.

* Agree on a specific time children should return home.

* Teach your children never to enter a stranger's home or car. Not to knock on any door where the lights are all off in the house.

* Instruct children to travel only in familiar, well-lit areas and stick with their friends.

* Make sure children’s phones are fully charged and upload tracking apps like 360LIFE where you can monitor their location at all times.

The simplest way to keep your child safe is to guard them as much as possible. Project Rescue Children knows predator will never attack if they are with an adult. Always look after your children and know where they are.

Trick-or-treating is an easy time for kids to get separated from parents and lost out there in the dark. Talk things through with them so they know that it is important to be aware and mindful so that they can be more careful too.
