Writer's picture: Project Rescue ChildrenProject Rescue Children

Throughout September, in collaboration with partnering agencies and law enforcement, Project Rescue Children successfully rescued 2 children from trafficking and exploitation, and saw the arrest of 2 traffickers from rescue operations. Our child safety workshop 'BE BRAVE' educated over 500 children. Project Rescue Children continues to fight to rescue, educate and rehabilitate children affected by trafficking and exploitation worldwide.

News From PRC Philippines

Our team is putting together local educators to implement our BE BRAVE child safety workshop for the first time in the Philippines. We have had tremendous positive responses from Gambia, Kenya and Uganda and we are confident we will educate thousands of Filipino children about online safety, trafficking and exploitation.

A one-month old baby was rescued in a rescue operation initiated by our online team, which was then passed to the Philippine National Police (PNP). This resulted in a joint operation with PRC volunteers going undercover with police to hand over the marked money to the trafficker. It was another excellent collaboration with law enforcement who only work with registered NGOS. We are preparing evidence for court, where PRC PH need to give evidence because of their direct involvement in the investigation and operation.

A number of our rescue operations are now in court to hopefully bring justice. Our volunteers are witnesses because of the investigations and joining in with law enforcement operations. PRC volunteers are directly involved, meaning in the middle of undercover operations with law enforcement officers in 95% of all operations. Everything is recorded by PRC and law enforcement officers for our records and for evidence purposes.

Investigations continue to rise as we work side by side collaboratively with Philippine authorities. The illicit trafficking of infants on black markets and the exploitation of children through live-streamed sexual abuse, also referred to as Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC), remain troubling issues that are of great concern to us as we conduct thorough investigations.

News from PRC Kenya

Our volunteers in Kenya are consistently receiving numerous requests for the BE BRAVE initiative. Community leaders and school directors have embraced the educational content provided by PRC, emphasizing the significance of this knowledge, particularly given that it is accessible to all at no cost.

Additionally, PRC volunteers are actively teaching young girls how to create their own reusable period pads. This initiative addresses the exploitation faced by these girls, as both local and foreign predators often leverage poverty to their advantage. They are aware that many young girls cannot afford period pads, and they exploit this vulnerability by offering pads in exchange for sexual favors, which can result in sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and unintended teenage pregnancies. We urge our donors to contribute to this critical issue. By becoming a monthly donor, you can help us safeguard these young girls. News from PRC Gambia

The volunteers from PRC Gambia persist in their efforts to educate numerous children in schools and communities through the BE BRAVE initiative. The demand from educators and community leaders has been substantial. We express our gratitude to Vision TV for their recent coverage of our educational workshop and for disseminating this information throughout The Gambia. Consequently, our volunteers have received numerous inquiries from individuals interested in the BE BRAVE program. We extend our appreciation to all educators and officials for their continued support in ensuring the safety of Gambian children.

News from PRC Uganda

In September PRC Uganda under our branch Cherished Children's Foundation (CCF) has been extremely busy educating and rescuing children. BE BRAVE was being prepared in readiness for it's official launch in October in Kiboga District. We provided assistance and donated school material to orphans of the Kiteezi Landfill disaster. We met with a orphanage in Kiboga who wanted to partner with PRC and CCF after hearing of all the good work being done on the ground for children. We met with Mayor Henry of Kiboga who is doing an incredible amount of work to try and protect the children of his district which has the highest rate of child sacrifice in Uganda. Meetings with government officials and law enforcement departments to strengthen our work helping children.

PRC and CCF officially opened our first physical office in Kampala with our volunteers working very hard to get it done.

The team met with victims of sacrifice and rape who we have supported and assisted police in apprehending the suspects. This is so important to our mission. Never leaving survivors to fend for themselves. Our work doesn't stop at the rescue.

PRC Online DarkWeb Team

We are actively pursuing individuals who target children in order to prevent their grooming or potential exploitation. It is crucial for parents to recognize that predators can be found in various online platforms, not just limited to the Dark Web. Therefore, we strongly advise parents to monitor their children's online activities, including whom they interact with, which applications they use, and their amount of online activity.

Additionally, if parents notice their children engaging in late-night conversations, it is essential to initiate open dialogues with them. Parents should establish a safe environment where their children feel comfortable discussing any issues without fear of reprisal.

One of the most pressing concerns, particularly for teenagers, is the threat of sextortion. Predators and scammers exploit teens by coercing them with inappropriate images, leading to manipulation and extortion. Tragically, many teens have taken their lives out of fear or shame. It is imperative for parents to engage in these conversations to protect their children from such risks and prevent potential harm.

We want to express our deepest appreciation to our amazing donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication and generosity are making a significant impact on the lives of trafficking and exploitation survivors worldwide. Your continuous support is what fuels our efforts, enabling us to offer crucial resources, rehabilitation programs, and a safe refuge for those who have endured unimaginable hardships.

Our mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children would be impossible without your unwavering support. We genuinely value your assistance in bringing about positive change for those in need. Thank you.
